Summary:Title page illustration has caption: Ride a cockhorse, to Banbury Cross, to see little Jenny upon a white horse. Colored illustration and several lines on each page. The firm Routledge, Warne & Routledge was renamed George Routledge and Sons in 1868; cf. Routledge archive description, University College London (http://archives.ucl.ac.uk). A British Library record for the complete set of nursery rhymes published by Routledge in twelve parts ([8] leaves each for a total of 96 plates) in OCLC states that the set has a copyright receipt stamp dated 1873; cf. oclc record 83065238. Color lithographed illustrations appear to have some hand-colored stencil overlays.
