Summary: | January 1, 1826 communication from De Witt Clinton Mitchell to the governor of Virginia, regarding the system of education at the Kentucky Institution for the instruction of the Deaf and Dumb. Mitchell explained the use of sign language at the facility and volunteered to supervise a similar institution in Virginia, should it be considered by the legislature. Of note, reports mentioned at the end of the letter are not included.
