The lengthy manuscript notes on the verso of the certificate record the passing of the certificate's bearer on the 12th April 1705, with the cost of the funeral duly borne by the confraternity. In the lower left verso are a series of scrawls in a very poor hand, evidently that of Juan Joseph himself, recording his payment of confraternity dues for the years 1702, 1703, 1704, and 1705.
Manuscript foliation in upper right corner, implying that this was once part of a larger bound volume: 27.
Notes:Caption title.
Dated at end: En [blank] del mes de [blank] de 17[blank].
Certificate of membership for the Cofradía y Hermandad de los Esclavos del Santísimo Sacramento y de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, with blanks to be completed in manuscript.
Two woodcuts at head of text: one depicting a flower (probably a passion flower), at the center of which is a scene with a swaddled baby Christ flanked by two angels and with two leaves bearing the names "Andres" and "Antonio", and the other depicting the Virgin Mary.
Woodcut initial; text within woodcut ornamental border on all sides except for bottom.
