Summary:This document compiles charges brought against the governor of Trinidad, Sir Ralph Woodford, by Joseph Marryat concerning land grants and the treatment of asylum seekers from the Spanish Main. Includes a series of papers presented to Parliament which offers insight into the governance of Trinidad from the capitulation in 1787 through to the 1822. Topics include rates of fines and quitrents, lists and returns of estates in Trinidad, returns of fees paid to public officers, returns of imports and exports, and extracts from Commitment and Gaol books.
