Summary:Communication from Wm. Hammond, Agent, to George A. Coe, President of the Senate, of the State of Michigan. It is dated January 22, 1855. The communication is in response to a resolution of the Michigan Senate requesting information on, "whether any money has been drawn from the Treasury of the State for the purpose of erecting a building for solitary confinement, and a House of Correction for juvenile offenders, and if any has been drawn, how much, and how much expended, and for what purpose expended; also, whether said building is in progress of erection, what progress has been made, and the present condition of said work, together with a plan of said buildings, also, to communicate such other facts m relation to the condition and management of said Prison, and in relation to such needful legislation as, in his opinion, the interest of the State may demand..."--Page 1.
