Summary:	Report of a Michigan House select committee "to whom referred the Report of the Board of State Auditors for the year 1864, with instructions to inquire and report what claims, if any, were allowed by said Boards contrary to law, and what further legislation is necessary on the subject." Much of the report is about Charles J. Fox, an agent appointed by the governor to investigate trespasses upon state property. The committee notes that the amount paid to him was high ($2,504.14), but it had no evidence of problems. The committee concludes "that the laws creating the Board of State Auditors and prescribing their duties, are sufficiently clear as to their powers, and define with reasonable certainty the manner in which the same shall be executed..." The report includes copies of correspondence by Governor Andrew Parsons. The report is signed by H.H. Wells, Chairman.
