Summary:Report of the Michigan House Committee on Elections, "to whom was referred the petition of Hezekiah D. McCulloch, contesting the seat of Peter McKinley. ... It appears from facts admitted and evidence adduced, before the committee, they have come to the conclusion that Peter McCulloch was an elector in the county of Manitou. ... Resolved, That Peter McKinley is entitled to a seat in this House." (Page 1). The report includes a report of the minority of the committee, statements from Hezekiah D. McCulloch, evidence of witnesses, and a statement of votes in the County of Manitou for the contested election. The report includes information of problems between Mormons and other inhabitants on Beaver Island. Manitou County was later folded into Leelanau County.
