Summary:The second lecture will emphasize the largely pneumatized with little crestal bone, the sinus with hypertrophic epithelium, the need for advanced diagnostic tools and the bone graft of choice for the advanced case. The implant design and surface for these sinus cases will be discussed. In addition, the need for ridge augmentation simultaneous with sinus augmentation will be presented. The timing of graft healing and implant placement and loading will be presented. A new technique to prepare the sinus window using a hydrokinetic laser (Waterlase) will be introduced.
