Summary:The history of GM Food research is reviewed, including what is being done now to improve the nutritional value of food. Genetic modification of food can be increased as shown by the example of the African food crop, cassawa. Research has shown that the mushroom and petunia can be used as potential gene sources for increasing available food nutrients.
