Summary:More than any other subject in Parent Education, discipline incites the most uncertainty. Many parents think of discipline as punishment rather than an opportunity for teaching and guiding their children's behavior. The goals of this program are to address the important concerns parents have about discipline and to help them discover a positive approach to it. As Dr. Frances Bond explains, discipline means teaching; through discipline we are teaching our children behaviors that are appropriate for their age and developmental level. Also offering guidance to parents in this program are, Dr. Barry Freeman, an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education, Wendy Rondell, an Elementary Guidance Counselor, and Dr. Margaret Kidder, a Certified School Psychologist.
