Summary:Teachers enhance the child's developing senses by giving the child time to explore how something feels, looks, tastes, smells and sounds. Teachers and caregivers show how they plan materials specifically for involving the sense, providing a sense of safety and security so the very young child can use the 'messy' activities with freedom. They share their amazement at the continued interest and long period of time the young child stays involved in these activities.
