Summary:A group of men and women gather near a railway track to sing a sorrowful song. They live among the ruins of a former Spanish cotton plantation that once exploited peasants in northern Mexico. The Cardenche song is a legacy of the cotton workers. Now the descendants follow the tradition with a drink made from fermented corn.
