"The facsimile of the Chinese characters on the [right margin of the] title page is taken from the Kashiragaki Ise Daijingū sankeiki or Diary of a pilgrim to Ise with head notes, by Watarai-Nobuyoshi, published in 1689."--4th prelim. leaf.
Printed on one side of double leaves folded once in Japanese style.
The diary of a Buddhist priest and physician written in 1342 has been attributed to Saka Shibutsu, but from internal evidence it seems better to ascribe the work of his father Jūbutsu. cf. Introduction, p. 21.
