Summary:Titus returns to Rome after a victory against the Goths, bringing as captives their queen Tamora and her sons, one of whom is sacrificed. Declared emperor through Titus's intercession, Saturninus claims Titus's daughter Lavinia as his wife. When Saturninus's brother Bassanius abducts Lavinia, Saturninus marries Tamora, who has sworn to avenge the death of her son. A series of atrocities of mutual revenge leads to a tragic end for nearly everyone.
