Summary: | In reminding us of the proper role of the Christian, the author divides his book into four major areas: the fatherhood of God and the meaning of God as a loving trinity of persons; the Church as the Body of Christ and the people of God; the existential aspects of being Christian--e.g. the role of suffering, the acceptance of God's will, the function of the lay priesthood and the meaning of sanctity. The final section is devoted to the significance of the sacramental life of the Church and to such subjects as the meaning of sin, the place of Mary in our lives, the meaning of prayer, and Christian death.
