The appendix is separately paged and has title: "An appendix to the first part of the History of Virginia. Containing a collection of such ancient charters or letters patent, as relate to that period of time, and are still extant in our publick offices in the Capitol, or in other authentic papers and records. Virginia, Printed: London, Reprinted for Birt, 1753."
There were two editions with imprint Williamsburg, 1747, which are fully described in the Church catalogue no. 964, and there designated as "1" and "2". L.C. has ed. "2" and the Sabin reprint, 1865, which is as nearly as possible a facsimile of "1". Some copies of both "1" and "2" were reissued with new t.p., London, 1753, of which "2" seems to be the more common. This copy is "1".
The work is part I of a history of Virginia and extends to 1624 only; no more published.
