Summary:Handwritten transcripts of excerpts from William Brown's Journal of his journeys (University of Chicago, Codex Ms. 383). Contains information observed during Brown's travels to Kentucky in 1782, along the wilderness road, and in 1790, along the Ohio River Route. Includes names of settlements, geographic landmarks, and distances travelled. Brown also mentions the Battle of Blue Licks (August 19, 1782) and lists the names of officers killed.
