Notes:Mr. Adams published a series of articles, signed "Novanglus", in the Boston gazette in 1775, in answer to articles in the Tory interest which appeared in other newspapers, signed "Massachusettensis". Both series were afterwards republished at different times in separate form. It is now well established that the Massachusettensis papers were the work of Daniel Leonard.
