Summary:Critic study on the life and artwork of poet and painter Lozano (b. Argentina), who in the early 1950's produced an extensive collection of paintings in addition to his work as a poet. His second poetry book "De Nacer o Morir" placed him as a well-known figure of contemporary literature in Argentina. In his facet as a painter Lozano's pictorial work has been dominantly pictographic, with planimetric scenes that recall Pre-Hispanic civilizations, particularly inspired in the Maya and Aztec codices. His paintings, drawings, prints and clays sculptures sometimes categorized as primitive art are better defined in a style that moves between figuration and abstraction due to the complexity of his strokes.
