Summary:The author presents a broad panorama of the hip-hop graffiti world in the capital city of Santiago in Chile with detailed texts on the history and characteristics of the painted murals, the invention of "tag" letters along visual clues to help decipher the hermetic painted highly elaborated messages. The book was originally the author's doctorate thesis and represents a research field work that lasted around 4 years where Figueroa worked alongside the "old school" hip-hop young graffiti painters such as Alme, Grin, Zekis and others. Includes a glossary of graffiti crews identification letters elaborated by Nast and Mason and lists of local and international graffiti spray painting artists active in Santiago from 2000 to 2003.
