Summary: | Dedicated to the life and art of rarely recognized "tapatío" painter De Lara Gallardo (b. México), an artist that has combined his artistic creativity with prayer and the contemplation of nature. Described as the "last religious artist", his powerful and mystic production include a Via crucis series of 16 oil paintings in the temple of Nuestra Señora del Sagrario, the large mural in El Calvario, 14 acrylics for the convent of Zapopan, and hundred of extraordinary and masterly created watercolors. This edition is based on the book "Alfonso de Lara Gallardo: el último artista religioso" published in 2004 by the same governmental office, augmented with the unedited text by Mónica Esmeralda Chavez.
