Summary:Boston attorney Ben Chase's career gets an upward surge when he successfully defends blueblood Martin Thiel during a well-publicized murder trial. But when he realizes that Thiel is the exacting, vicious serial killer he was accused of being, Chase is torn between professional responsibility and his own conscience. Hoping to snare the egotistical killer in a misstep, Chase engages in a tense game of cat-and-mouse with Thiel, blurring the lines between right and wrong, victim and villain, and fascination and repulsion.
