Summary:This collection of 35 documents discusses the pastoralists who inhabited the central Asian steppes from 3000-2300 B.P. Brief overviews as well as overviews of specific subcultures are included. The subcultures discussed are Altai Mountain Scythian, Mongolian nomadic, Sarmation, Sauromation, Saka, Tagar and Tuva. Nine of these documents were previously published in Nomads of the Eurasian steppes in the early Iron Age; 16 in Kurgans, ritual sites, and settlements.
