Summary:This is a collection of 30 documents about the lowland Maya from the time period of 2100 B.P. to 1100 B.P.A comprehensive introduction to the Classic Maya can be found in The ancient Maya by Sharer. Half the documents discuss Cobá, located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The remaining documents provide information on the sites of Tikal, Uaxactún, Kaminaljuyu, Altar de Sacrificios, Seibal and Quiriguá, in Guatemala; Lubaantun in Belize; Dzibilchaltun in the Yucatan Peninsula; and Copán in the southern Mayan lowlands of Honduras.
