Summary: | A wealthy, work-obsessed businessman plies his minor son Vicky with spoonfuls of brandy and whiskey in order to placate him, little realizing that he is responsible for creating an alcohol-dependant child. Vicky grows up to be a heavy, habituated drunk, and loses his oldest and dearest friend on account of alcohol. His father disinherits him and leaves him homeless and penurious, but shortly thereafter business partners swindle him of all his assets, and like his son he too takes to excessive drinking. Despite all these reversals of fortune, the story has a happy (and healthy) ending.
