Summary: | The exhibition comprises seven altars from the black communities of Colombia exploring the funerary rites used by the Afrocolombians, Raizales and Palenqueras ethnic groups to celebrate their saints, ancestors and dead ones. The exhibition is the resulting collective work of a research, analytical and ethnographic, historic and artistic curatiorship project started in 2006 by the Minitstry of Culture Direction of Ethno-culture, the National Museum of Colombia and the Group of Afro Colombian Studies of the National University of Colombia.
