Summary:A brief introduction to art, with original texts written by 77 artists selected by historian and art critic Paulo Sergio Duarte and that represents in one editorial project the diversity of opinions on specific aspects of contemporary art. The accompanying DVD contains visual essays on 21 of these artists, directed by invited cineaste and photographer Murilo Salles. Additionally, the enclosed CD-Rom comprises 15 interviews in Portuguese with Brazilian theorists, critics and curators from a wide spectrum of viewpoints and generations. Some of the participating artists include: Adriana Varejao, Angelo Veneso, Antonio Dias, Arthur Omar, Beatriz Milhazes, Carlos Fajardo, Carlos Zilio, Cildo Meireles, Gabriela Machado, Helio Oiticica, Iole de Freitas, Jac Leirner, Lygia Pape, Nuno Ramos, Vik Muniz and Waltercio Caldas amongst others.
