| Summary: | An exhibition of 131 historic and artistic pieces including documents, prints, paintings, miniatures, scientific and measuring instruments, books and a selection of 25 original botanical drawings and 10 original geographical and botanical maps elaborated by the painters of the 18th century Royal Botanical Expedition from the holdings of the Spanish Royal Botanical Garden, and exhibited in public for the first time in Colombia. The collection includes pieces form the holdings of the Real Jardín Botánico of Madrid, the National Libraries of Spain and Colombia, the National Archives of Colombia, and several Colombian and Spanish museums in what represents the life and important artistic and scientific legacy of naturalist and explorer José Celestino Mutis (b. Spain 1732- -1808) .
