Summary: | A monographic study of the church and convent of Santo Domingo Yanhuitlán in Oaxaca. This book is the most comprehensive and detailed book published to date and is part of the resulting work of a more extensive research project dedicated to Tlaxcala, Yuririapndaro and Yanhuitlán, three colonial monastic and convent complexes erected in the 16th century in Nahuatl, Purepecha and Mixtec insurgent territories. This volume is a multidisciplinary research project that comprises the construction and architecture of this magnificent temple and monastery of the Dominican order, built on top of a pre-Hispanic platform and used for the evangelization of the Mixteco Indians. It includes the participation of specialists in history, art history, archeology, architecture, restoration, paleography and photography led by Alejandra González Leyva.
