Summary: | Microfilm reproduction of a manuscript (286 leaves), probably from the 17th century, of a Cakchikel-Spanish dictionary, composed by Father Domingo de Vico during the first half of the 16th century. The vocabulary lists words and phrases in Cakchikel, from the pronoun and interjection "A" to "tzucuquiyatz," followed by equivalents and explanations in Spanish. There is also a section of words beginning with the five Parra letters, with their Spanish equivalents. Throughout the vocabulary, some words are marked with a cross, a dash, or both, possibly to indicate that those words are the same in Quiché and/or Tzutuhil. Also included is an explanation in Cakchikel of the rewards enjoyed by those who are redeemed in heaven, entitled "Dotes de gloria de los vienabenturados;" and short vocabularies containing kinship terms and parts of the body in Cakchikel and Quiché.
