Summary:Cineaste Ozualdo Ribeiro Candeias (b. Cajobi, 1922 - d. Sao Paulo 2007) was a talented Brazilian director and a pioneer of the marginal cinema. His 1967 film "A Margem" was the very first film to be included in the Marginal movement, and the one that was responsible for the name and creation of "Cinema Marginal". Although others used different denomination, the 'marginais' model was a way to represent in film the life of the society's questioning the whole film industry and its standard models.
