Summary:This training tool is a companion piece to the Field Guide to Child Welfare and uses the Field Guide's Forrester Family case study to help students and practitioners master the fundamental social work skills for family-centered child welfare practice. The Forrester case illustrates a child welfare caseworker's activities in a family situation involving the abuse of a 9 year old boy. The five segments of the videotape dramatize the caseworker's interactions with the mother, from their initial contact at intake through the development of a case plan to reunify the family.
