Summary:Farmer Karbhari is gearing up for the potato harvest season so that he can pay back the money he has borrowed from the money-lender. One day when returning from his fields, Chitangya, Karbhari's bulls, falls into the leopard trap and breaks his hind leg. Now Chitangya is unable to plough the fields. Despite medical treatment, there is no recovery. Karbhari is now worried since there will be delay in reaping and he would not be able to make money. He is reminded of Pandu, a neighbour, who committed suicide as he was not able to pay back the moneylender. He decides to sell Chitangya at the village's weekly market and buy a new bull. But his seven year old son Tingya is closely attached to the bull since he was born just two months after him and two have grown together. Thus begins Tingya's traumatic fight for the survival of the bull.
