Notes: | Contains (1) Letter of Hon. Willis Alston, jun., dated "Committee room, Jan. 12, 1807," to the secretary of war, requesting certain information of Lewis and Clark's expedition. (2) Letter of Gen. H. Dearborn, in reply, dated "War department Jan. 14, 1807," transmitting to the Committee a copy of Captain Lewis' muster roll of his party, together with a copy of his letter to the secretary of war relative to the same. The folded leaf which forms part of this tract is Capt. Lewis' muster roll, printed very closely after the autograph ms.
