Summary:The value of video is quite simple; basically you can demonstrate what things look like in reality, says Andrew Pollard Professor of Education at the IOE. The value of video is explored in terms of its use as a teacher's CPD tool. In particular we look at how the school workforce and educationalists use Teachers TV both for personal professional development and, more formally, in school or college based environments. At West Herts College they hold regular twilight CPD sessions to discuss Teachers TV programmes such as From Good to Outstanding in order to take a fresh look at their own practice. It helps keep teachers up to date with the latest developments in their subjects or management of their school and it also helps teachers with their academic and inset courses.
