Orakau (2nd work) is a musical setting of the poem, Dead leaves of Orakau, by Leon Coad (1912-1967). Words also printed as text in container insert.
Te Papa (4th work) is based on the anonymously-written mid-nineteenth century poem, Charm. Words in English and Māori also printed as text in container insert.
Beowulf (5th work) is inspired by the event described in the Old English epic poem where the hero, Beowulf, slays a fearsome underwater creature, mother of the monster Grendel.
