Summary:Fine edition dedicated to the artistic creations of Angelo Venosa (b. Sao Paulo 1954), one of the most respected sculptors of his generation. Venosa was part an important name the 1980's generation. His neo-expressionist small and monumental work (sculptures and installations) are amorphous and fragmentary creations that under the "skeletal dark skin" of the fabric and plaster surrounding them, hide a formal geometric structure. In his works, Venosa uses nature and industrial materials collected in different moments of his career: teeth, bones and skulls of animals, paraffin, wax, wood, glass fiber, acrylic, polyurethane, lead and marble, among other many elements. "The 1980's excelled in a hybridity of genres and historical movements, producing heterogeneous results, disorderly figurations and material diversity, all in the attempt to oppose the reductionist experiments of the previous decade in conceptual art and minimalism" --Page 15.
